INFLUENCE OF TEACHERS PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE ON ATTITUDE OF SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS TOWARDS TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

Technical and vocational education training (TVET) in Nigeria is intended to help the federal state authorities their determination revitalize, reform, expand provision of skills, vocations, science, technology geared towards socio-economic development nation. TVET also includes a wide range skills opportunities incorporated into national local contexts. There are increasing insinuations suggesting that Nigerian set-up challenged by unfavorable perceptions concept learners. The primary aim study examine secondary school students attitudes based on TPC. One hundred sixteen senior drawn from public private schools Kogi State participated study. participants completed self-report measures attitude TVE perceived teachers pedagogical competence. findings revealed 65.5% respondents expressed negative science process skills. Also, it was found competence influenced TVET. practical implications discussed.
